Software engineer. Hands-on maker. Amsterdam.

A curious mind.Busy hands.

I’m Pierre. I build software, make things, and take the long way home for the light. Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

French by origin. Dutch by bicycle mileage.

One person. Three rabbit holes.

Step into a studio. Each one has its own materials, methods, and happy accidents.

Pierre

An engineer who likes things you can hold.

Software is my day job. Making is the thread that runs through everything else. I’m based in Amsterdam, exploring machine embroidery, designing small useful objects, and noticing the city through a lens. Different tools, same curiosity: how is this made, and could I make it better?

Let’s talk ↗

Currently on the workbench

Reading

Embroidery machine manuals

Researching a first machine. Learning about stabilisers, thread weights, and what makes a stitch sit just right.

Printing

Small useful things

Hooks, mounts, replacement feet. Small, specific solutions to the everyday things that almost work.

Coding

This very website

A home for the things I make. One codebase, four different worlds, and room for whatever comes next.

Have something in mind?

A software problem, a small object, a shared curiosity. Get in touch at bonjour@pierre.amsterdam. This site is an evolving notebook; illustrations are concept studies and reference photography is labelled until my own work takes its place.
